Why climb across regular monkey bars when you can climb across the Overhead Wave Ladder Freestanding! The up and down angling of the horizontal ladder creates the wave-like look to the bars. When standing to the side, the profile very clearly shows a distinct zigzag pattern. One of the benefits of the shape is that adds a vertical element to the overwhelming horizontal bar design. In a more traditional set of overhead bars, kids just put one hand in front of the other in a very linear motion. With the Overhead Wave Ladder Freestanding, they are having to overcome gravity as they take an upward turn and it is slightly easier on the downward turns. On either side of the ladder, there is a raised platform with handles to get up to the bars. This ensures that kids are easily able to make the transition from standing on their own feet to climbing.
Climbing is a core-building activity that most children enjoy. For other similar climbers, check out the Overhead Curved Ladder, the Handring Maze, and the Chinning Bars.
