Class can be in session on the playground with the School Panel. All the kids need to do is pick who is going to be the teacher each time! This simple panel creates a space for children to role play and begin recognizing important life words. It designates a place in their play area where they can act out what they know about school. While the panel may seem rather plain, its the perfect addition to a trike track. As children roll around the track, they begin to recognize buildings importance and tie those into their previous experiences to get a better grasp on a word or concept. If this is used at a daycare, they might call their daycare school. For those with older brothers and sisters, they might think of their siblings' schools. From there, teachers, adults, or caregivers can spark a conversation about what children think a school is and what happens when older children go to school. All of these interactions and interlinking of previous experiences, will help them develop their reasoning and critical thinking skills.
While the School Panel is a great start, add the Post Office and Fire Station Panels to round out the look.
