Slide away to fun on the Sherpa play system. This roofed structure, offers a wide variety of experiences for kids on the playground. To get started, one side is made up of mostly PlayShells. They can climb up the PlayShell Climber which leads into the PlayShell Tunnel. Once they have made it through the enclosed tunnel, they land on the first full deck of the structure. They are then able to go across the PlayShell Through which is a line of PlayShells with an overhead ladder. Landing on the deck after crossing kids will be joined by their friends who came up the Access Platform and stairs. As they head further into the structure, they'll have the opportunity to play on the Xylophone or to spin the Labyrinth Panel. For more adventurous children, they will be drawn to the Climbing Panel to reach the deck with the Duo Chute Slide. Once they come off the slide, they can head to the Helix Spinner. In addition to the Duo Chute Slide, children can take Rope Ladders up to a Solo Chute Slide and the Hurricane Spiral Slide. Finally, when kids are ready for a break, they can head down to the PlayCounter in the shade of the structure.
When choosing a playground it is important to consider where the components have come from. Conditioned wood or recycled metal posts are both opportunities to take part in environmental stewardship. Wood was once a staple of playground design, but as time has continued, it has become less common. But, wood and natural materials make for natural learning environments that can be important for children’s development. Several teaching methods use nature and natural tools as ways to reach children. On the other hand, the recycled metal used comes from items that would otherwise rust away in dumps. The recycled plastic comes from specifically milk jugs. As Americans, we tend to drink a large amount of milk every day. This results in millions of used milk contains every year. Even if the play set purchased only uses a few thousand of those milk jugs, its that many more that didn’t end up in a landfill. Your playground purchase can be part of the solution that limits waste.
