Add more than a climber with the PlayShell Amphitheater. The oval-shaped layout of seats can be either a climber or a gathering place. A teacher can sit kids down and hold a talk or lesson outdoors or it can be part of play time. The arched bars connecting them together provide constant handrails. Children can incorporate other games with a simple game of tag or follow the leader around the outside of the structure. Children will be challenged to come up with their own way to play on the equipment encouraging unstructured play. The gentle rise and fall of the arrangement of shells can be walked around, across or approached at any point. Unstructured play is an important part of development as children have to figure out their own rules to how they play.
PlayShells make up an entire style of equipment. The PlayShell Amphitheater is only one of the available climbers with the Fort and Circular Climber being the others. Even the Chatter Bug offers an excellent spot for social engagement. For an even more challenging pieces of equipment, be sure to take a look at some of the obstacle courses like the North Star, the Seeker, the Nina, the Magellan, the Columbus, the Pinta, the Santa Maria, the Voyage, Expedition, the Peak Adventure, and the Trek.
