Climb up and spin around on the Climbing Whirl. Simply combing a rope climber with a spinner sounds fairly cool, however, remove the base and make the entire shape a diamond, then you have the Climbing Whirl. By taking away the large bottom platform, the entire climber presents more of a challenge. At the widest point, is a thick ring to sit upon. Kids will need to focus, climb, and think to be able to reach the middle. To stay on the ring, they'll need balance making the entire climber a challenge.
One of the most difficult tasks for selecting playground equipment for older children is to make it both physically and cognitively challenging. The fun imaginative forts and educational walls no longer work with children as they become tweens and near their teens. The difficultly innate in putting a spinner with a climber is quite a bit already, but by taking away a wide platform it makes difficult enough that older children will enjoy conquering it.
Constructed out steel and polyester, this climber is sure to last. The center-most post is an 8-inch diameter steel post with a cap to keep the elements out. Attached to it and leading to the ground are 16mm Netform ropes with high-density polyethylene fasteners. The ropes themselves are made up of 6 strands of steel and an inner fiber that are then wrapped in a cocoon of polyester fibers. The outside of the cord is then coated in a latex bonding agent. Adding the latex strengthens the rope from abrasions.
